A first for Sharingwood Farmstead! We are offering Drop-off Summer Camps for school aged children (5+ years). Before and After care are also available upon request. A sack lunch and water bottles are required for all campers. More specific details on rules/ items to bring/ tentative daily schedules will come before camp begins. During our Sharingwood Farmstead Summer Camps, we will have so much fun! This is a great opportunity for children who are not able to attend Forest and Farmstead classes through the week to be able to experience all the farm fun, or for returning friends to be able to stay a full day doing what they love! Campers will help with farm chores (feeding and watering all of the animals-- cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys), gardening, and will learn all about animal husbandry, ecology, and permaculture principles! Each day we will have a morning lesson and an afternoon lesson-- one on an animal species on the farm and how to interact with it and care for it, and one on an ecological principle, like creating good soils, composting, companion planting, etc. All lessons are accompanied by hands-on projects! The remainder of the camp time is spent enjoying a mix of free-play with friends on our fenced-in 7 acres, doing water activities to stay cool, playing games as a group, and more! ****An Important Note on Payments!!!**** To reserve your spot, each child will need to pay a $100 deposit at the time of booking. This can be done via Wix, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Check or Cash (for Check and Cash, you will need to arrange either to mail or deliver the deposit to our farm within the week of booking). The remainder of the balance will be due on, or before, the first day of Camp. This balance can be paid via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Check, or Cash. Please note that there IS a Multi-Child Discount of a compounding $20 off for each additional child (ie. the first child pays $200, the second child pays $20 less ($180), the third child pays $20 less than the second child ($160), the fourth pays $20 less than the third child ($140), and so on.) Ex. If you were enrolling 3 children for a week of summer camp, you would pay a deposit of $300 at the time of (or within a week of) booking. Then, on, or before, the first day of camp, you would pay the remainder of the balance. In this case it would be: $540 (multi child) - $300 (deposit already paid)= $240 due on the first day of camp.
